This 150-page short-article style history has been a fantastic way for me to take my mind of the daily path. It provides highly succinct evaluations of well-known parts of our country’s development and challenges. All set over and among awesome art and pictures. I usually read it only ten minutes at a time. Yesterday I read about the Korean war and the Missouri compromise. Susan and I liked learning about the Louis and Clarke expedition.
The articles contain many details I learned in school, but also more modern interpretations and viewpoints. In this compact format, there’s no backup references, so a lot of it could be unfounded. But it grabs your interest for possible further study.
