PG-13 (Killing, shooting, gore)
If you had a hard time getting through Caliban’s War don’t worry. Abaddon’s Gate really kicks it back into high gear. This book as some buildup but then it seriously delivers. This might be the most action-packed book in the series (at the time of writing up to book 8).
This book really kicks off the rest of the series. The other books took place purely in the Sol system. Without given away too much, this book takes it into the unknown. I really loved this book. I would say I liked it more than the last book, and I the only reason I can’t say I loved it more than the first book was simply because that book is a bit nostalgic. Otherwise, this is a really fun book. It’s a bit stressful at times because at this point, we’re really starting to love the main protagonists.
Corey seems to love a redeemed hero, which I love, and there’s some solid ones in Abaddon’s Gate as well. Overall, I highly recommend Abaddon’s Gate if you want a roller coaster full of action and some great antagonists. I feel that this is the strongest addition to the series up to book 3.
