To get straight to the point, this book was good but not as good as the first book. This one is more of a slow burn and set up for the next book. I’m okay with a slow burn. This book has a lot more political intrigue and less “shoot ‘em up” space cowboy style plot building

I would still recommend this book to everyone that was a fan of the “Leviathan Wake’s.” It’s also definitely worth reading since the later books are amazing. There are a lot of moving parts in this book and many other plot points which will, later on, find their origins’ from this book.

I would still recommend this book because I enjoyed it, but there might be moments when you need to “put you head down and trudge on” so to speak. I don’t want to sound like I didn’t enjoy this book, because I thoroughly did and I love the new characters being introduced. I just think it might be the weakest book when compared to the rest of the series.
